Pavilion at Colerain Beach
about 1945

Marie (Vaughan Ware), in photo, had this to say about Colerain beach:
" Colerain Beach was a 'hang-out' for all the young people near and far.  We had dances, boating and just 'hanging out'.   Colerain Beach had the largest herring cannery in the world --  we used to go there during the 'herring run' and cook fish on the beach (our whole family did this - then we brought home barrels of them to pickle).  Colerain was the place of many good times for me --  I did most of my teen dating there."
compliments of Michael J Manning, her nephew
