Allen Roscoe Ausbon was born 4 June 1841 and died 18 July 1899.  farmer "He is believed to be a native of Rowan County NC and the son of Jack [Jasper Jakie] Osborne whose wife was a Moore.
He married on 29 December 1870 Macy Jane Roberson who was born 30 Mar 1851 and died 21 Jan 1926. She was the daughter of Jesse and [Martha?] Avis Peele Roberson, believed to have been from Pactolus Twsp, Pitt County NC.

Allen was a school committeeman for Brown Schoolhouse where his children attended school.

       names one of his married daughters, Sarah Cockbern as an heir

The same year, 1755, a list was compiled of Tyrrell County taxpayer households.  
Only two Cockburns are listed:  George and George Jr.  The location on the tax list suggests that they were nearby neighbors of Epenetus Griffin. 
Since we know that the senior George Cockburn's wife is named Elizabeth, that leaves the jurior George as the likely husband of Sarah.
2) George Cockburn Jr, and Sarah Griffin Cockbern were similar in age.
3) According to George Cockburn/Coburn's will, signed in 1798, he had a son named Griffin (my ancestor).  
This is the first appearance of the name "Griffin" in my lineage.  
My great-grandfather was Thomas Griffin Coburn.  He was Griffin's grandson.
4)  The name Suffiah never shows up again in the Coburn family that I'm aware of.  
George and Suffiah, however, do have a daughter named Sarah. e-mail from Don Weinell

James Brown the son of Alexander Brown and wife Rebekah Hutchinson was born 12 March 1780. He married about 1800 Millie Holiday, who was born 13 Oct 1780. They came to North Carolina from New Jersey and settled in Martin County on the old Brown Homestead [a farm on highway 903, four miles south of Robersonville and one mile north of Oak Grove Church]. James had a land grant for a thousand acres of land at one dollar per acre.

"Alexander Brown came from England during the Church Wars, settling briefly in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, before moving to North Carolina. Pitt County Records show a 250 acre tract of land lying on flat Swamp part of a tract granted Jeffrey Jolly by Lord Granville in March 1761, conveyed to Simon Everett by Alexander Brown. Alexander was born 3 October 1745 and married in 1775 a Scottish school teacher from New Jersey, Rebecca Hutchinson, born in 1750. 
  Alexander was a Revolutionary War soldier. 
 In 1770 he obtained 250 acres of land and deed from John Barnhill in Pitt County, near flat church swamp in Martin Co or I should say, Pitt Co. Book E page 8, Pitt Co records.
In 1782 Alexander Brown deeds 250 acres of land near flat swamp church - then a part of Martin Co NC to Simion Everett. Book F - page 121, Pitt County Deeds.
In 1782 Alexander Brown obtained 423 acres of land in Martin Co. by patent.
 Alexander died in July 1795 and Rebecca died in 1824."
