This is my working hypothesis - the way I see it as of this moment!! 

  Allen Moore and [Nancy] Ann Warren were married 13 Sept 1798.

 Allen Moore was born 10 March 1776 and died 18 December 1837 in  Murfeesboro, NC.
 Allen Moore was the brother of John Moore, who was the father of Mrs. A W Darden.

 [Nancy] Ann Warren was  born 10 August 1776 the daughter of Ethelred Warren [16 Jan 1749 - 30 Oct 1807] and Margaret Riddick Darden [25 Feb 1760 -12 May 1834]. Her parents had married 12 Oct 1775.  Nancy Warren Moore died in Murfeesboro on 10 Jan 1844. 

Moore in his Historical Sketches of Hertford County written for pub. 1 Nov 1877:  "John P Bridger was at this time [1848] the sheriff of Hertford County. Though a democrat he had succeeded in defeating Albert Moore, a Whig for that office. Mr. Moore lived in Manney's Neck and was the son of Allen Moore, who left so many stalwart and useful sons in our midst. Alas! the venerable Samuel Moore of Buckhorn alone survives. Allen Moore's brother John lived near Murfreesboro and was the father of Mrs. A W Darden of Elm Grove as most useful and estimable lady who with her aged husband are yet among the few spared monuments of a better day. They were long in their service to the cause of education in our midst; but of latter years the Elm Grove Academy has lost no reputation under the management of their children."

From Dr. Thomas O'Dwyer's Diary of 1825
 we learn
  That Allen Moore's slave Tony was found dead in the snow Jan 23
      Tony's funeral sermon preached on May 8th
   March 3 says Allen Moore's son paid $10 on his fathers account  due 7 years

   March 5th - bought of John Moore half a fore quarter of Beef 45# @ 3 1/2 cents - $1.57 with credit.

  We also learn of Dr. O'Dwyer's visits during the summer and fall of 1825 to the John Moore family home because of the illnesses of John's son Alfred and his brother, daughter Sarah, John Moore himself [so sick that he has John Vann rewrite his will]. Later daughters Betsey and Mary are very sick.

Alfred Darden was the administrator of John Moore's estate by 17 Sept 1829.
 Hertford Co. Feb Ct 1833 -  Alfred W Moore is appointed Guardian to Mary Ann Moore, Adolphus E Moore, and Richard Moore, orphans of John Moore deceased who enters bond for the Sum of Twenty five Thousand dollars, with John Vann, Abraham Riddick, Alfred Darden and Nelson Hodges Securities thereto which bond is accepted by the court.

He married Virginia, oldest daughter of A W Darden and had been a Democrat while his competitors were both Whigs.
