This group of proven siblings were literate - they
signed their names rather than marks.
Could be grandchildren of one of the men who appeared in the
original Charter.
These 3 Moore's all were for the king at the time of the Bacon
Revolution. Oct 1777 They all signed their names - did not use a
mark |

This is my working hypothesis - the way I see it as of this moment!!
from Dr. Barry Hayes' research
observations by Dr. Barry Hayes:
1. The father of Edward Champion, who appears to have married Priscilla,
may have been an Edward, the first husband of Mrs. Elizabeth --?--
Champion Poole Walton (1612-1676).. However, there is no clear documentary
proof of the given name of Elizabeth's first husband, --?-- Champion.
Other Champions were around.
2. The fact that the matriarch Elizabeth (1612-1676) made
Thomas Moore her sole legatee in 1675 when she made her will does not
necessarily imply a "blood" relationship.
3. Thomas Moore probably married Elizabeth's daughter
Elizabeth Jr., who would have been the widow Elizabeth Eldridge who
clearly married 2nd Thomas Moore.
4. The circumstantial evidence is strong that Phyliss Fort
was the daughter of Elizabeth Sr.
5. The circumstantial evidence is strong that Mrs.
Priscilla Champion was .... a sister of the proved brothers a.Thomas Moore and b. George
Moore, also possibly, c. John Moore Jr and d. William Moore who patented
in 1652 in Nansemond just to the east of John and e. --?-- Moore and his
wife Mrs. Anne Rogers Moore Baron Matthews Davis, whose only Moore son was
yet another John Moore, f. Elizabeth Moore who married 1st Thomas Barlow
and 2nd William Baldwin, and g. Katherine Moore who married 1st unknown
and 2nd Robert Flake.
