The Karl Hartman Family ca 1867 [say 1870]

note from Joan --The story is that the picture was taken in two shots, so the siblings could wear the same dress.
On the back of original picture owned by Ruth Pollak Lasser of White Plains is written; Taken in NY abt. 1866.  Missing is Sophie Popper who was married and living abroad until 1880.  (I'm not sure who wrote all this-my ggrandmother?.)The order of people in the picture is from left to right: Katie Schalle; Theresa Proops; Barney; Julia Levy; Karl, Jacob and Eva; Josephine Lederer; Caroline Weiss [really Anna Weiss]; Bertha Leffler; Anna Weiskopf [that is Caroline Weiskopf] (that is how it is written.)
Now we know that Karl and Eva and family emigrated to NYC! Perhaps we can find more records.
